Resin Bound

A smooth, permeable, seamless finish.

Overview

Our Resin Bound Service

Resin bound mixes natural aggregate with clear resin for a smooth, seamless surface. It is permeable, so it drains through the surface, and it stays free of the loose stone you get with gravel.

We carry out resin bound across Berkshire & Surrey, including Woking, Cobham, Henley-on-Thames, Guildford, Windsor, Crowthorne, Ascot, Winkfield, Weybridge, Sunbury-on-Thames.

    The Process

    How It Works

    1. 1

      Survey and quote

We visit your local property, check access and drainage, and give you a written, itemised quote.

    2. 2

      Excavate and prepare

We dig out to the correct depth and lay a compacted, free-draining sub-base.

    3. 3

      Edging

We install edge restraints to give the surface a clean, defined finish.

    4. 4

      Lay and finish

We mix and lay the resin bound surface by hand, then clean down before we hand back.

    Why Us

    Why Choose Us

A few reasons customers across Berkshire & Surrey choose us:

    • Checkatrade-approved, so our past work and reviews are there for you to check before you commit
    • One team handles your driveway from groundwork to finish, with a single point of contact throughout
    • We prepare a properly compacted, free-draining sub-base rather than laying resin over a weak foundation
    • The permeable finish can help avoid planning permission issues that apply to non-permeable surfaces

    What Affects the Price

Every job is different, so we quote after we've seen the site. The main factors are:

    • The size of the driveway and how much excavation is needed
    • The surface you choose (block paving, resin bound or gravel)
    • Access for machinery and how the old surface and spoil are removed
    • Any drainage, kerbing or steps the site needs

    FAQ

    Resin Bound Questions

Do I need planning permission for a resin bound driveway?

Because resin bound surfacing is permeable and drains on site, it usually falls outside the planning permission rules that apply to non-permeable surfaces over five square metres. We'll flag anything you need to check when we survey your local property.

How long does a resin bound driveway last?

A well-installed resin bound driveway can last for many years, provided the sub-base is properly prepared and free-draining. The bound finish also means there are no loose stones to scatter or need topping up.

Do weeds grow through resin bound surfacing?

The bound, compacted nature of the surface makes it much harder for weeds to establish compared with loose gravel, though occasional maintenance around edges is still worthwhile.

How do I clean a resin bound driveway?

Regular sweeping and an occasional wash keeps most resin bound driveways looking good. A pressure washer can be used, but on a lower setting to avoid disturbing the surface.

Do you lay resin bound driveways for businesses as well as homeowners?

Yes. Alongside domestic driveways, we carry out commercial resin bound surfacing for businesses in your area.
