The Process

How It Works

  1. 1

    Survey and quote

We visit your local property, check access and drainage, and give you a written, itemised quote.

  2. 2

    Excavate and prepare

We dig out to the correct depth and lay a compacted sub-base built for the traffic your drive will take.

  3. 3

    Drainage and edging

We set the falls, fit drainage where needed, and install restrained edges to hold the surface in place.

  4. 4

    Lay and finish

We lay your chosen surface, whether that's block paving, resin bound or gravel, then clean down before we hand back.

Why Us

Why Choose Us

A few reasons customers across Berkshire & Surrey choose us:

  • Checkatrade-approved, so our past work and reviews are there for you to check before you commit
  • One team handles your driveway from groundwork to finish, with a single point of contact throughout
  • We prepare the sub-base and drainage properly rather than surfacing over a weak foundation
  • We work on both residential driveways and commercial surfacing such as car parks and forecourts

What Affects the Price

Every job is different, so we quote after we've seen the site. The main factors are:

  • The size of the driveway and how much excavation is needed
  • The surface you choose (block paving, resin bound or gravel)
  • Access for machinery and how the old surface and spoil are removed
  • Any drainage, kerbing or steps the site needs

FAQ

New Driveways Questions

How much does a new driveway cost in your area?

Costs depend on the size of the driveway, how much excavation is needed, the surface you choose, and site access. We quote after visiting the property, so you get an accurate, written price rather than a guess.

Which driveway surface lasts the longest?

Block paving and resin bound both give a long-lasting, low-maintenance finish when laid on a proper base. Gravel is the most cost-effective option and drains freely. We'll talk you through the trade-offs for your property when we quote.

Do I need planning permission for a new driveway?

A permeable surface such as resin bound or gravel that drains on site usually doesn't need planning permission. A non-permeable surface over five square metres that drains towards the road may. We'll flag anything you need to check when we survey your local property.

Do you remove the old driveway?

Yes. Excavation, removal of the old surface, and clearing the site afterwards are all included in the quote.

Do you install driveways for businesses as well as homeowners?

Yes. Alongside domestic driveways, we carry out commercial surfacing such as car parks, forecourts and access roads for businesses in your area.
